Kim "the Rocket" Roentved was a Danish superstar defender who primarily played for the Wichita Wings and Kansas City Comets. He played in a record 13 All-Star Games, and was named league Defender of the Year three times. In his MISL days, Roentved's offensive output from the defender position rivaled only Mike Stankovic and both players were named to the MISL's All-Decade Team in 1988. Roentved was named All-League eight times including two 1st Team appearances.
Roentved transitioned into coaching, first as a player/coach with the Wings and then, following his playing career, he coached the Comets and the Wichita B-52s.
